Singapore (Part 2): From Day till Night

Singapore (Part 2): February 5-8, 2016 (5th Asian destination)

Singapore (Part 1): Universal Studios

A place, a dream… there’s always one and none… you never stop, a one ticked out of the list, will be replaced by two or three... more to go, I know, I feel, I’ll do.

On February 5, 2016, I ticked off my 5th Asian country visit, Singapore, though a search from google could bring you on a numerous sites and pages that offer numerous information about the country, yet still, for my memory’s sake, I will cover my personal account on one of the most expensive countries in the world.

There are 10, 20, even 50 must do in Singapore, but we only went as far and as many as our tired, soared feet and meager budget could brought us.  If you just feel like reading and if you think that the information below could help you, then scroll down.
Singapore is not a priority on my list, considering that it requires a huge cut  on my almost zero bank account, but an accidental proved on Cebu Pacific site led me and my friends to a compulsive decision to purchased a roundtrip ticket to Singapore for Php6,500.00, not bad indeed!  It was September 2015, and the flight is scheduled on February 5 and return on 8, 2016 in time for the Chinese New Year.  We made an extra effort to save for hotel, entrance fee to UNIVERSAL STUDIOS and food, shopping is certainly not included.

Day 3: February 7, 2016
1st stop:Shop at Bugis: For cheap and wide variety of "pasalubong" like "I love SG t-shirt", bags and chocolates.Route: From Little India DT12 station to Bugis DT14 (approximately 10 minutes travel).

2nd Stop - Feeling artist at Haji Lane:
From Bugis walkstraight along Victoria Street, turn right onto Ophir Street, left at North Bridge Road and finally, right onto Haji Lane.

A hipsters enclave and fashionistas paradise hidden in a tiny lane, it offers a chick selections of stylish and hip tailored dress and accessories.  It also offers a different theme of quaint and rustic little cafe.

3rd Stop - Gardens by the Bay
From Bugis station we took Downtown line LRT and get off at DT16 Bayfront Station.

The Garden by the Bay is a 101hectares nature park, its creation was inspired by the goal of the government to transform Singapore to a City in a Garden, the government believes that this will raise the quality of life by enhancing greenery and flora in the City.

4th Stop: Marina Bay Sands

A luxurious hotel, Marina Bay Sands viewed like surfboard offers a magnificent view of all points around the city especially of the Garden by the Bay, Merlion Park and at Singapore Fly.  This state of the art engineered floating park, created by visionary architect Moshe Safdie, is a 1.2 hectare SkyPark, hailed longer than the Eiffel Tower when laid down, housed an observation deck, gardens, restaurants and an exclusive and impressing, infinity-edge swimming pool "ohhh keep dreaming."

The Helix Bridge
The Helix Bridge: Claims to be the world's first architectural and engineering design and it actually won the "World's Best Transport Building" award in 2011.  The bridge showcases a special visual experience through series of lights illumination.

The Merlion

Can't get hold of a solo space with the Merlion.

Day 4: February 8, 2016
Before going home, we had a quick detour at the China Town to witness the celebration of Chinese New Year and at Little India.

The Sri Veerakaliamman Temple at Serangoon Road, Little India.

Finally, chili crab at the old Banana Leaf Apollo.

We are just lucky to have the last servings of Chili crab at the Banana Leaf. Since its Chinese New Year, almost all the restaurants are close and you cannot possibly find chili crab during holiday.
